Have you ever looked in the mirror and been disgusted by what you see? I hate to admit, but I have. And after you have hurt your own feelings by all the unflattering words & thoughts you’ve hurled at it, how does that make you feel?

I find that being offended, disgusted, disappointed, and turned off by your own body does not make you lose weight, or look better.

Let’s start loving our bodies, as beautifully imperfect as they are. It’s hard to do, I know, because you are comparing yourself to the weight you were a couple of months ago (my issue) or you are comparing your weight to a friend’s or a celebrity, etc.

You are okay right where you are. You really are. Why are you putting this self-imposed weight guideline on yourself. Who said you MUST be at this “ideal” weight? What are you expecting to happen when you get to this weight? Why can’t it happen in your life right now?

Every person on the planet has a special talent, gift, something that makes them unique. So stop hiding them, and pretending they don’t exist. This helps no one.

You were not put here to hide, suppress or diminish your abilities. Somewhere, someone needs what you have. Whether it is a particular skill, your amazing way of seeing the bright side or your natural welcoming smile. Recognize what you’re stellar at, hone it and then share it.

I’m tired of missing out on all the greatness you have to offer. 

I know you have a strong belief in how things should be done, which is always your way of course. But I just want to put it out there that your view is not the only perspective that exists.  Shocking, I know! You’re baffled as to why when you share the obvious, people don’t seem to heed your advice. Well, that’s because your opinion is not law nor is it fact. There are many ways to get to the same point, so instead of being stubborn and trying to shove your beliefs down someone’s throat, you hush it, listen, watch and learn. 

So ask for that promotion you want, ask for that relationship commitment you want, ask for the help you want, ask for the understanding you want, ask for the money you need, ask for the love you need, ask for changes you want, ask for the extra scoop of ice cream, ask for the color you want, ask for the favor you want, ask for the business you want, ask for the compliments you want, ask for the support you want, ask for the time you want. Just ask! You already don’t have it so what do you have to lose? 

There is nothing I want more on this planet than for each one of you to truly know you are beautiful.

Beauty is not about appearance, looks fade. It’s in the kindness of your smile, the joy in your laugh, the empathy in your tears, the gentleness in your voice, the glimmer in your eyes, and the care in your touch.

You have this HUGE goal you want to tackle but you have no idea how you are actually going to do it. That’s fine. Instead of trying to do it all at one time, just pick one thing you can do towards your goal. If you’re not sure, then maybe you should make a list of all the things that need to happen in order to get the goal accomplished. Break it all down into small bite-sized actions and then pick the easiest one and do it. Then pick the next one and before you know it, you’re closer than you thought you’d ever be. 

The one thing women don’t seem to do enough of is ask for help. We tend to want to take everything on our own. (“I am woman hear me roar.”) We feel that it shows weakness if we can’t do everything ourselves.

So when you are struggling, you won’t ask for help. You’ll say to yourself, “If they wanted to help they would offer.” But if they don’t know you need help, they won’t offer either. It’s not their job to look out for you and know when you need help. It’s yours. So speak up when it gets too heavy. It’s okay! 

The day before may have been filled with moments you wish to erase and forget but we both know you can’t do that. It’s done. Today, don’t waste it reminding yourself of those embarrassing moments, misspoken words or regretful actions. Right now, you have the opportunity to start fresh. You’ve got a clean slate.  What are you going to do with it?

I know you see and hear a version of this everywhere. But yet, you are still making yourself the last person on your list, if you even remember to put yourself on the list. And, I get it! You feel good when everyone has their needs meet. You are cementing your place in heaven and creating good karma. Stellar for you! But while you are running around taking care of everyone else, who is in charge of taking care of you?

There are people in your life who are satisfied with the way their life is and are not interested in coming out of their comfort zone. And that is absolutely fine, for them. But that does not mean you have to suck it up and not strive for something more if you want it. You don’t have to accept what you have. Yes, be grateful for what you have but don’t settle when you know you want more. You deserve it. So come up with a plan and put it to action. This isn’t going to happen all by itself.
