It makes me sad when I hear people say, “I don’t want to get my hopes up.” I get it. It’s a way to protect yourself because a part of you doesn’t believe something that good could happen for you. You don’t feel you deserve it. Of course you don’t state it that way but that’s the vibe you are sending out there. I always encourage people to get their hopes up, it’ll keep you moving and inspired to do what it takes to get to a yes. It feels better than rejecting yourself and becoming demotivated because you’ve convinced yourself you might not get it so why bother.
