Business Basics: Who are your right people?

In starting up your business, you will have lots of ideas, tons! And, you’ll want to do them all right now. The first thing every business coach will ask is who is your target market a.k.a. who are you going to serve with these tons of ideas? And when you are starting out you will say, “My product/service is for everyone.” Well, I hate to break it to you peaches but it’s not. There is one type of person your product or service is for and you need to know who they are so you can be where they are and speak to them directly.

Your business action item
So, your business assignment this week, if you haven’t done it already, is to be specific.

  • What type of clients/customers are you already attracting? (Sometimes the niche/clients/customers choose you instead of the other way around.)
  • Who do you enjoy helping? (it can be a type of situation you have experience in)
  • What problem do they have you have the solution to?
Even if you have been in business for awhile take some time to reassess to be sure you are on the right track. Nothing wrong with a check in every now and then, right?
